English for Specific Purpose (ESP)
Through this course, students have a deeper understanding of the issues and implementation of ESP/CBI courses. Students also learn how to do a needs analysis, make lesson plans, and develop or adapt own curriculum, materials and assessments to suit the needs and goals of their learners. Students also look at other ESP/CBI courses which could include English for Academic Purposes, Business English, English through Science, Social Studies, etc., based on students’ areas of interest.
Approaches to English Grammar
This course is designed to provide  students with instruction and practice in how to approach the subject of English grammar (linguistic structure) and principally through the English language.  The class is much heavier on the practice of getting students to understand and implement some fundamental structural elements of English and lighter on the theory of specific grammar points In addition to focusing on developing teaching knowledge and skills, the classroom serves as a model environment for the student teachers.
Developing Bilingualism
This course is designed to provide students with a course in issues and practices related to the development and/or enhancement of bilingualism and the theoretical underpinnings of this rapidly developing area of language research.
Creating Multimedia for Learning
This course explores language learning and teaching in digital gaming and virtual world environments. This exploration is guided and framed by, among others, ideas related to communities of practice and language socialization. Through engagement with the research and theoretical literature, and games and virtual worlds themselves, the course is designed to provide opportunities for students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to create language learning tasks in these contexts. 
Second Language Learning Theories
This course is designed to provide language teachers/students with a comprehensive overview of some of the main issues associated with second language learning.
Teaching Reading
This course aims to develop teachers’ abilities to teach reading. With this aim, the course first explores different theoretical perspectives underlying second language reading, before introducing various instructional reading interventions. In addition to exposure to numerous exemplary reading practices, students will have many opportunities to try out specific teaching techniques
